Jerry Siegel & Bob Clampett (by Alan Light)
Jerry Siegel, co-creator of Superman, and Bob Clampett, animation legend and one of the men responsible for many of the original Looney Tunes cartoons, along with Tex Avery, Friz Freling, and Chuck Jones. From a Time Magazine article about one of the first science fiction fan conventions dated July 10th, 1939. The nerd struggle for acceptance seems to reach back very far.
